A robe belt seems simple until it won't stay tied. After making millions of robes in our Orange County, California studio, here's how to tie one cleanly and keep it that way.
How to tie a robe belt
Thread the belt through the side loops, center it at your back, bring both ends to the front, cross left over right, tie a simple square knot (left-over-right, then right-over-left), and snug it. The square knot is what keeps it from slipping.
Keep it from coming undone
Always use the side loops — they hold the belt at your waist so the knot doesn't ride up and loosen.
If you lose the belt
A matching or contrast sash works; the loops fit a standard robe belt width.
FAQ
